How-to
ERP implementation checklist: from signing up to go-live
IndustryX Suite Team 1 min read
1. Decide the scope
Choose which processes go live first, for example sales, purchase and stock, and which follow later, such as production and quality.
2. Prepare your data
Clean your masters before you load them: customers, suppliers, items with units and GST rates, and opening stock and balances. Remove duplicates and inactive records. Clean data is the single biggest factor in a good start.
3. Set up the company
Configure users and roles, locations, taxes, document numbering and payment terms. Keep the first set-up simple and add rules once the team is using the system.
4. Train by role
Train stores, sales, purchase, production and accounts teams on their own tasks. Short, role-based sessions work better than one long session for everyone.
5. Run a pilot
Run a small set of real transactions in parallel with your current method for a couple of weeks. Compare results and fix gaps.
6. Go live and review
Pick a clean cut-off date, such as the start of a month. After 30 days, review what is slow, what is confusing and what needs a setting change.
Common mistakes
- Loading dirty data
- Skipping training for the stores team
- Going live in the middle of a month-end
- Switching on every module at once
