How to read receivable and payable ageing reports

IndustryX Suite Team 1 min read Intermediate

Available in Standard and above

What the report shows

Receivable ageing lists what customers owe, grouped by age such as 0-30, 31-60 and 61-90 days. Payable ageing does the same for what you owe suppliers.

Step 1: Open the report

Open the ageing report for receivables or payables and choose the date you want it as of.

Step 2: Read it

Start with the oldest column. Large amounts there are your biggest collection risk, or your biggest overdue payments.

Step 3: Act

  • Receivables: call or message the customers with the oldest amounts, and review their credit terms.
  • Payables: plan payments by due date and cash position, paying critical suppliers first.

Step 4: Review regularly

Check weekly. A rising share in older columns is an early warning for cash flow.
